...since some of you may eventually notice that somebody else is posting doubles of my work here.

Don't worry. It's cool.

What happened is that I went to court and legally changed my name to "Teresa Susan Challender" this July. And to avoid confusion -- I mean, I've been creating work under "Teri S. Wood" since the late 80s! -- I intend to keep both sites active here on DA for a while yet.

My Brief Explanation, because no doubt you'll be a'wondering why:

My mother's husband was a butt-head. And since he's passed away, and there is a damn good possibility that he wasn't actually my birth father, about five years ago I began to consider changing my name.

The first two because, well, Mr. Wood actually named me after a horse he was betting on at the time, and that does not inspire sentimentality. And I like "Teresa Susan" a lot better.

And my last name because my cousin Jatina's dad has all but adopted me since my move up here to Washington. He's been more of a father to me than ... well, anybody I've ever met. And he gave his blessing when I asked. And so I did it.

Oh, and don't worry about urls or emails. My man Gushi -- the amazing, Ferret Webhost -- is helping me set up forwards for both that'll work fine for the next year or so. So nothing should be lost. You can use the old email and main url just fine. And I'll post the new info as it gets finished.

Until then,
Best wishes,
And tah!

I've been noting that of all my deviations, the angels get the most traffic and favs. So I'm thinking that maybe this is an indication that I should consider doing more of them.

With that in mind, I have yet another one sitting in my thumbnail book, along with a couple of Foreigner thumbnails that I have to decide upon for two gift pics I intend to send to a couple of friends. And I am excited to begin work on all of them. Only wishing that there were more hours to the day, and all of that stuff.

I am particularly excited about the angel drawing that I have planned, as it will be my first in color. Jatina will probably frown deeply about that. She really likes my black and white, line art -- but I wanna-wanna-wanna do one in color. So I'm gonna. Yee hee hee!

In other news ... Baldur's Gate is EVIL.

I've begun dreaming about it nightly, complete with background music. I play the game daily now, for at least an hour, and I can forget all my house chores once I get going. It is that addictive.

This game has also altered the way I look at puzzles and problems in my life. Which I find terribly amusing. But it has. And isn't that strange? But after playing it for ... yeah, I guess it has been a couple of weeks, and constantly having to think ahead, ponder all possibilities, and knowing what resources I have with me before opening that next, strange door -- this mode of thinking has left an impression upon me.

Sure, there are no lovely caches of magical potions and weapons to seek out along the walkways of my life, but the understanding of the value of being prepared and thinking things through before acting has imprinted itself upon my brain -- since this usually makes the difference between my kicking the monsters rear parts, or becoming monster chow.

It's just strange. And geeky. Yes, it is. But then, I'm no stranger to geekiness. Baldur's Gate has just added a new dimension to the geekiness that I already had on board.

Anyway, going to go play for an hour before getting to work.

A Personal Warning to my friends...

I have a bit of a situation developing with a member of my family. The individual is extremely unstable, and has a very violent history, and he is pissed at me.

So, though I know that most of my friends would know better than to give out my information, I'd still like to say it here -- please never give out my info to anyone claiming to be a family member. And don't trust them either.

I'm taking precautions here. I've already spoken to the police. So don't worry -- I'm okay. But if anyone should contact you claiming to be a family member, RUN FAST. He's unstable.

Be safe,
Teri

It's the fact that the forum deletes any thread that is not responded to in ... I suspect about 5 hours. And I don't mean not responded to at all. You can have replies -- quite a few of them -- but if nobody posts for a few hours, the thread goes away. Which is frustrating when your message center says you have 11 replies, but your box is empty because the thread is now deleted.

(Bangs head)
Luckily though, I did do a save as on the main page to save the info that was there last night. The thread was about naming your three favorite DA artists. And it was coming along very nicely, but Jatina warned me about what happened to my last few forum threads that I never saw the results of, so I saved it as it was. But what came after ... I'll never know. Dang it.

So frustrating.
Teri
