Jatina says that I suck at titling artwork. Maybe. As I was going to call this "Not Cupid". But, he isn't. Ya know?
So, in an attempt to do better, I'm going with "Ebony-Winged Guardian". And maybe that is more dignified for the poor fellow.
Oh, and you should know that I nearly had a coronary over this picture. I fretted to death over it. Still am, actually. But here it is. I'm calling it done ... at least until I think of something else to do to it ...
Yargh.
Colored Pencils all over a nice, clean, piece of 11 x 17 bristol, 2-ply.

...maybe this is an "adult" cupid, instead of the usual "baby" cupids. He doesn't mess around with that puppy love and infatuation stuff, he's delivering serious passionate love. Maybe?
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

I really don't know what happened. I was trying for a formidable, menacing looking angel. And ... something went awry.
Jatina laughs at me when I tell her that. She looks at him, points at his "toga" and snickers.
I think she has a point.
Obviously, my subconscious had other ideas.
